The Experience

Whisky divides people. You either love its fiery warmth or detest its full-on flavour. Either way, there’s a reason why it’s Scotland’s national drink and our biggest export. Whether you fall head over heels for our finest dram or banish it to the back of the drinks cabinet, at least you can say you’ve tried it on Scottish soil on a whisky tour from Edinburgh and seen a little of our sexy country along the way – think impressive waterfalls, a mythical glen, ancient woodlands, and a charming Highland village.

Itinerary

Whisky, Warriors & Waterfalls

We depart Edinburgh in the morning and make our way to the Kelpies, a gigantic monument to horse-powered heritage across Scotland.

We head deeper into the Highlands, where you can either dive into an awesome whisky distillery tour and taste a dram of Scotland’s famous national drink, or explore the little market town of Crieff, packed with quirky shops and cosy cafés.

After soaking in the stunning views of the Sma’ Glen, a valley steeped in ancient myths, we’ll hit The Hermitage forest in Perthshire for a beautiful woodland walk through rivers and waterfalls.

We wrap up our day in the charming riverside village of Dunkeld to grab a local treat or two. Our whisky tour returns to Edinburgh in the early evening hours, passing the jaw-dropping Forth Bridge on the way.

Tour Highlights

Small But Mighty
Small But Mighty
Travelling in a wee group means more banter, more space, and plenty of laughs along the way. Cosy, right? Just a heads-up – while we usually travel in smaller vehicles, sometimes a larger bus might be used due to availability.
Sma' Glen
Sma' Glen
Sma' Glen is packed with history—ancient clans and even Roman soldiers once used this route through the Lowlands. With epic hills and winding rivers, it’s a seriously scenic highlight as we cruise through Scotland’s jaw-dropping countryside.
The Hermitage
The Hermitage
There’s nothing like a good stretch of the legs in Perthshire’s enchanting woodland, to inhale the fresh forest air, and look up at some of Scotland’s tallest trees. Get your camera ready, your shoes muddy, and prepare to be sprayed and amazed by the epic waterfall.
Dunkeld Cathedral
Dunkeld Cathedral
Dunkeld Cathedral is absolutely beautifully, from the peaceful, countryside setting to the impressive, arched ruins. Look inside the main building for the cursed tomb of the wicked ‘Wolf of Babenoch’, and wander down to the banks of the fast-flowing River Tay to soak up the surroundings.
Whisky Drinking
Whisky Drinking
A trip to Scotland would not be complete without a wee taste of our national tipple… whisky! We take you to a local whisky tasting to sample the ‘water of life’, where you’re guaranteed to leave feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
Robert the Bruce
Robert the Bruce
As far as kings go, Robert the Bruce was an absolute legend. Learn the true story of our ‘Outlaw King’ and national hero, on this epic journey around historic hotspots connected to the man himself – including Bannockburn; the battle site where he won his greatest victory for the Scots.
Picturesque Dunkeld
Picturesque Dunkeld
Dunkeld is a wee charmer! This pretty Perthshire town sits on the River Tay at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. Rows of quaint 18th century houses lead towards Dunkeld Cathedral; a striking partial ruin with a history spanning hundreds of years.
Kelpies
Kelpies
The Kelpies are a stunning spectacle of modern engineering, designed by Scottish artist Andy Scott. Kelpies are mythological beasts in Scottish folklore, and this epic equine landmark is the largest of its kind in the world, “neighing” at a height of 30 meters and weighing a mighty 300 tonnes.
Crieff
Crieff
Crieff’s a total gem! Wander through quirky shops, grab a coffee, and soak up some real Scottish vibes. And don’t skip Drummond Castle gardens—they’re absolutely stunning and perfect for a laid-back wander.
