It depends on how much of Scotland you want to see and how much time you have at hand. Day tours are ideal if you’re planning to do one or more shorter trips during your stay and prefer to base yourself in your own accommodation in Edinburgh. Some of the destinations you can visit on day tours from Edinburgh include Loch Ness, Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, St Andrews, Stirling, The Scottish Borders, and smaller traditional villages like Dunkeld or Luss.
Multi-day tours on the other side are perfect for those wanting to go at a more relaxed pace, with more time to reach places that cannot be covered in just one day. These include some islands like the Isle of Skye, Isle of Mull and Shetland.
As little as possible. Scotland is rugged and vast, so some amount of driving will undeniably be part of the journey. The total time spent driving will vary depending on the tour you choose, but all itineraries are designed to get you out and experience the places you came here to explore. If you are sensitive to longer driving hours, a multi-day tour could strike a great balance where stretches of driving are offset by days filled with a slower-paced exploration, including walks and more time spent in nature, towns, and attractions.
The duration of our Scotland tours from Edinburgh ranges from day to week-long itineraries. Day tours specifically span between 9 and 13 hours depending on which trip you choose.
